Küf: Turkey. Basri, a widower little out of retirement, walks every day along the railroad tracks to check the status. Aside from his work, his only thought is to have news of his son, who's been missing for many years, after he was arrested during student demonstrations in Istanbul. Basri continues to write to the authorities without response; he's often questioned by the Commissioner (Muhammet Uzuner), he bears and wait. The young, stupid Cimel (Tansu Bicer) teases him. Basri surprises him to rape a woman and hits him; Cimel threats him so that he does not reveal anything. Basri has seizures, while Cimel, often drunk, dies under a train just before his eyes. I'm not really sure what this was, but it was alright. Story of an older gentleman going through life after losing his son and wife (son is missing, and he hasn't seen or heard from him in 18 years). Based off true events of missing persons in Turkey, I'd say this was downright creepy at times. Just the look in that older gentleman's eyes in some parts of the movie, you don't know what is going to happen next. This isn't a thriller movie, though, if that's what you're looking for, but it almost felt like it in some parts. Very sad story.
